Rust Medical Center – Rio Rancho, NM
This award winning project is Presbyterian Healthcare’s largest capital project to-date, consisting of 300, 000-sf in three structures: a five-story patient tower, two-story Diagnostic & Treatment building, and central plant. The hospital has an 80-bed capacity and features a full-service emergency department with a helicopter pad, women’s center, labor and delivery, and a neonatal intensive care unit. Also included: intensive care unit, surgical and operating suites, pharmacy, administration, and a catheterization lab.
The major functions of the facility, including a fully integrated medical office building, are planned around a central atrium area that enhances way finding for patients and families. The lines between indoors and outdoors have been blurred with healing gardens located throughout the facility. The all private room facility also incorporates materials to help reduce noise to allow patients to rest without interruption.
